Associate Principal
Greetings Ironwood Community! I am the associate principal at Ironwood Elementary.
I am thrilled to be an Ironwood Coyote and look forward to building relationships with our families, students, and staff that make this school such a special place. I truly believe in the mission at Ironwood that every student should feel safe, loved, and engaged in their learning.
This is my first year in Tucson and here at Ironwood Elementary. I started my career in education in 1998 as a teacher in California. I spent time teaching kindergarten, first grade, fourth grade and seventh grade. I spent the last nine years as a dean of students and as an assistant principal in California before buying my new home in Tucson this year.
As the associate principal, one of my primary jobs is to support our students and staff with our positive behavior support (PBIS) model. We teach our students to follow the HOWL Code at Ironwood. HOWL stands for:
- Have Respect & Be Kind
- Obey the First Time
- Work it Out Peacefully
- Live and Act Responsibly
Students learn these expectations throughout the campus and our staff continuously reinforces these character building skills to create an effective learning environment.
I am excited about working together with Mr. Johnson, our faculty, and families to provide our students with the best elementary education we can give them.
